A Tata, an Indian industrial giant that owns Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), remains committed to expanding its brand abroad. To achieve this goal, the manufacturer has just introduced a new platform for electric vehicles, the acti.ev, an architecture that can accommodate one or two motors, allowing for all possible configurations, including two or four-wheel drive, front or rear-wheel drive.
The first car born on this platform is the Punch.ev, an electric SUV that is already available in India and in some markets in North Africa, with it being unknown if the launch program also includes Europe.
It has plenty of arguments. The Punch.ev is available in two battery versions and four equipment levels, with the top ones allowing for fast charging up to 150 kW.
In the base version, the small SUV has a motor with 82 hp of power and 114 Nm of maximum torque, powered by a 25 kWh battery. Meanwhile, the Long Range version combines an electric motor with 122 hp of power and 190 Nm with a 35 kWh battery.
The price, starting at €12,000 in the domestic market, is perhaps its biggest asset, although the equipment list includes some interesting elements, such as the sunroof, 360º cameras, six airbags, Full LED headlights, and a multimedia system with a 17.7-inch screen developed by Harman.
