Porsche’s Nick Tandy was the fastest in the first practice session for the Detroit Sportscar Classic, the next race in the IMSA Sportscar Championship. Tandy clocked a time of 1:06.899 on the street circuit while driving the Porsche 963 #6, beating out British compatriot Nick Yelloly in the BMW M Hybrid V8 #25 by 0.580 seconds. Ricky Taylor came in third in the WTRAndretti Acura ARX-06 #10, followed by Philipp Eng in the BMW M Hybrid V8 #24 in fourth place. Renger van der Zande was the fastest among the Cadillacs, securing fifth place in the Cadillac V-Series #01.R.
