Symbio inaugura a primeira gigafábrica para a produção de pilhas de combustível

A Symbio, a joint venture equally owned by Forvia, Michelin, and Stellantis, inaugurated on Tuesday, December 5th, SymphonHy, its first gigafactory for the production of fuel cell systems.

Located in Saint-Fons, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France, the gigafactory is the largest integrated fuel cell production facility in Europe and represents an important step towards the implementation of sustainable and efficient mobility. The site houses the headquarters of the Symbio Group, a production unit, an innovation center, and the Symbio Hydrogen Academy.

With a current production capacity of 16,000 fuel cell units, aiming to reach 50,000 by 2026, this new SymphonHy is paving the way for large-scale production, supporting its customers in their efforts towards low-carbon transportation.

It is worth noting that the SymphonHy gigafactory is part of HyMotive, a strategic project worth one billion euros for the development of disruptive technologies, supported by the European Union and the French government, and will create 1,000 jobs over its lifespan.
