The fourth generation of the Suzuki Swift has just arrived in the national market, maintaining the essential characteristics of one of the most charismatic and best-selling cars of the brand, with over 9 million units sold worldwide, but evolving into a sophisticated and elegant compact car.
With prices starting at €19,608, the renewed Swift presents itself with a slightly unchanged exterior image, highlighting the redesigned and more square front lighting, with L-shaped daytime running lights, as well as a reformulated piano black front grille. On the side, the muscular contour and the floating roof design stand out.
As for exterior colors, the Japanese brand revealed that the new Swift features a range of refreshed body colors, with 9 monochromatic options and 4 two-tone options with black roof and pillars, including new colors like Frontier Blue Pearl metallic and Cool Yellow metallic.
With dimensions very similar to its predecessor, the new Swift is 3.86 m long, 1.73 m wide, 1.49 m tall, and has a 2.45 m wheelbase.
In the interior, the new generation of the Swift debuts a new 9” central screen that integrates with smartphones, both for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via Wi-Fi and USB; as well as voice recognition and music playback via Bluetooth, in addition to displaying information about the vehicle’s status.
Furthermore, a two-tone (black and light gray) wraparound instrument panel, combined with satin silver details, gives the cabin a sporty and dynamic look. Also noteworthy is the trunk, which now has a capacity of 265 liters, which can reach up to 980 with the seats folded down.
In terms of engine, the new generation of Swift debuts a hybrid solution, combining a new 1.2l three-cylinder engine with Mild-Hybrid 12V SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) technology, a system that converts kinetic energy generated during deceleration, stores it in a lithium-ion battery, and assists the engine during acceleration to achieve greater fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. This engine can be paired with a five-speed manual or automatic CVT gearbox, and also with the AllGrip Auto all-wheel drive system.
In terms of safety, the fourth generation of Suzuki Swift is equipped with millimeter wave radars, monocular camera, and ultrasonic sensor, all aimed at ensuring better performance of the Suzuki Safety Support ADAS package, which also includes an evolution of the Dual Sensor Brake Support, capable of detecting the approach not only of cars, but also of bicycles, motorcycles, and pedestrians.
Also available is an omnidirectional monitor camera, blind spot monitoring, and rear traffic alert.
As for prices, Suzuki has already revealed that the new Swift starts at €19,608, for the S1 version with manual gearbox and front-wheel drive:
