Suzuki suspende reservas do novo Jimny Nomade no Japão

Four days after the launch of the Suzuki Jimny Nomade in Japan, the Japanese brand was forced to temporarily suspend reservation orders due to high demand.

The success of the new five-door Jimny was so significant that Suzuki announced that more than 50,000 reservation orders were registered in just four days. Considering that production for Japan is currently limited to 1,200 units per month, customers interested in the new Jimny will have to wait about three years to enjoy Suzuki’s new off-road vehicle.

The Jimny Nomade is set to hit the market next April and is the first five-door model of the Jimny, a series that showcases the features and driving performance of the four-wheel-drive models.

With a longer wheelbase and an extra set of doors, Suzuki’s small off-roader becomes more practical and comfortable to inhabit without sacrificing its robust stance and character.

The Jimny Nomade measures 3.89 meters in length, which is 340 mm longer than the two-door version, and has a wheelbase of 2.59 m. Despite the changes, the Jimny Nomade retains the robust design and off-road DNA that characterize the line. With a more spacious interior, it remains a viable option for those seeking a compact vehicle that also offers versatility for different types of terrain.

In terms of engine, the Jimny Nomade continues to use the 1.5 naturally aspirated engine, capable of delivering 103 hp. The standard 4×4 traction allows for adventures on more challenging surfaces.

The Jimny Nomade is built at Suzuki’s factory in Gurugram, India, and in addition to the Japanese market, this small off-roader will also reach other Southeast Asian markets, as well as South Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Although Suzuki aims to fulfill current orders as quickly as possible, there is still no timeline for when new reservations will be accepted. The first deliveries in Japan are scheduled for April 3. In response to overwhelming demand, Suzuki has also canceled all planned exhibition events for the Jimny Nomade in Japan.
