Superyacht DAR – Jaw-Dropping Shark Design with a $225 Million Price Tag!

Dar, the famous Oceanco superyacht, is not a new build. It was delivered to the owner in 2018 and has since gained recognition for its innovative design. In the same year, it received a Judges’ Commendation for Best Technical Achievement at the Boat International Design & Innovation Awards. It also became the first Dutch build to have the official Lloyd’s Register Integrated Bridge System (IBS) notation for its advanced pilothouse. The yacht has been praised for its unique approach to yacht building, breaking tradition and creating a leisure craft unlike any other.

Since its delivery, Dar has been available for charter, with a weekly rate starting at €1.2 million ($1.3 million). Recently, it has been put up for sale after undergoing thorough maintenance and upgrades. The asking price for this luxurious superyacht is €208 million ($225.2 million), excluding taxes.

Dar’s design is inspired by a hammerhead shark, evident in its contrasting black hull and white superstructure. The mast is shaped like a dorsal fin, further emphasizing the theme. The exterior design was created by Luiz De Basto, while the interiors were designed by Nuvolari Lenard. The goal was to create spaces that seamlessly blend the interior and exterior, incorporating natural elements and using the finest materials.

Online reports suggest that the owner of Dar is Ziyad Al Manaseer, a Jordanian-born Russian entrepreneur who made his fortune in the construction industry. The name of the yacht, “dar,” means “gift” in Russian, which aligns with the owner’s background.

Dar stands out among other superyachts due to its unique approach to space. Instead of trying to fit as many amenities and features as possible, Dar focuses on creating flowing spaces that do not feel crowded or overwhelming. The superstructure is predominantly made of glass, covering almost 400 square meters (4,305 square feet). This achievement required a lengthy approval process from Lloyd’s.

Dar is truly a remarkable superyacht, offering a one-of-a-kind experience for those fortunate enough to step on board.

Large Yacht Corp. has unveiled its latest masterpiece, the stunning superyacht Dar. This extravagant vessel boasts a unique design that prioritizes breathtaking sea views while maintaining the utmost privacy. The extensive use of tinted glass allows guests to admire the surrounding beauty without compromising their seclusion. Notable features include a glass-wrapped jacuzzi and a rotating sofa on the owner’s deck, providing the perfect vantage point for taking in the mesmerizing scenery.

Dar measures an impressive 90 meters (295 feet) in length and has an interior volume of 2,926 GT, making it one of the largest yachts currently available. Despite its size, this superyacht offers exceptional performance on water, thanks to its custom superstructure. The sleek and sporty design, coupled with a lower center of gravity, ensures enhanced maneuverability. The resemblance to a shark is not merely for aesthetics; every aspect of Dar’s construction is carefully considered and purposeful.

In terms of performance, Dar can reach a maximum speed of 20 knots (23 mph/37 kph) and comfortably cruises at 14 knots (16.2 mph/26 kph). With such impressive capabilities, this yacht is perfect for those seeking both luxury and adventure on the open seas.

Accommodating up to 14 guests in seven lavish cabins, including an exclusive owner’s suite on a private deck, Dar leaves no stone unturned when it comes to providing comfort and opulence. The vessel also boasts a dedicated crew of 31 to cater to guests’ every need. The list of amenities is extensive, ensuring that every desire is met.

Dar features two private helipads, one cleverly concealed as the main pool when not in use. A glass elevator seamlessly connects the various decks, allowing for easy movement throughout the yacht. Additional highlights include a fully-equipped gymnasium, a wellness area, an expansive beach club, multiple pools (including a private jacuzzi for the owner), and generously sized garages filled with tenders, water toys, and filming equipment.

Both formal and informal dining options are available, both indoors and outdoors. The interior spaces exude elegance, featuring luxurious materials such as rich fabrics, fine leathers, glass artworks, and hand-painted plaster bas-reliefs. The use of marble, maple veneer, sycamore, and limed ash adds a touch of sophistication to the overall design. Dar strikes the perfect balance between luxury and tastefulness, ensuring a truly memorable experience for its fortunate guests.

For those fortunate enough to possess a substantial fortune, Dar presents an irresistible opportunity to indulge in the ultimate luxury. With its extraordinary features and impeccable craftsmanship, this superyacht is the epitome of opulence and style.
