Subaru may be working on the next generation of the WRX, and has now revealed a “teaser” of a prototype that it will present at the “Japan Mobility Show” in 2025, which will take place in October.
The news was confirmed last weekend during the 24 Hours of Fuji in Japan, where Tetsuo Fujinuki, Subaru’s technology director, gave some hints about the new model, without, however, mentioning its name, making it clear that it will come equipped with a new version of the all-wheel drive system.
The “teaser” revealed by “Car Watch” from Japan shows a model with an aggressive aerodynamic design, a generously sized grille, a pronounced lip, and a vented hood. Additionally, the wide wheel arches stand out, giving the model a sporty stance.
In addition to the new model, Fujinuki also confirmed that Subaru is preparing a new engine, although he did not reveal details about the new powertrain, which will be compatible with carbon-neutral E20 fuel, indicating that it will likely include a hybrid system.
We will have to wait until October to learn about Subaru’s new model and engine, which is expected to be the new generation of the WRX. It is worth remembering that the current generation was presented in 2021.
