Stellantis vai vender elétricos chineses de baixo custo da Leapmotor na Europa

Leapmotor International is a joint venture, led by Stellantis, with the Chinese company Leapmotor, an automotive company that in 2023 was in the top 3 of new Chinese electric vehicle companies.

The joint venture created by the two companies plans to increase Leapmotor’s sales in China while also increasing global sales by taking advantage of Stellantis’ global presence.

Thus, Leapmotor International will start operations in Europe, including Portugal, in September through 200 dealerships by the end of 2024. In addition, the new company has an expansion plan for India and Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa, and South America.

It is already known that the T03 is a small electric urban car with five doors, low cost, aimed at the A segment, but with interior space of the B segment, with an announced range of 265 km, it will be one of the first models of the new company for the European market.

One of the models that will arrive in Europe later this year is the C10, which is announced as Leapmotor’s first global product, built according to global design and safety standards. The C10 is based on the LEAP3.0 technological architecture, developed by Leapmotor itself, integrating leading intelligent electrical technologies in the industry, including an integrated electronic control unit and electrical architecture, cell-to-chassis (CTC) technology, and a top-of-the-line intelligent cockpit. This electric model in the D segment announces a WLTP cycle range of 420 km. “The establishment of Leapmotor International represents a major step forward in helping to address the urgent issue of global warming with state-of-the-art 100% electric models that will compete with Chinese brands present in key markets worldwide,” said Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis.
