Stellantis will suspend production of the Fiat 500e for four weeks due to low demand for the 100% electric model.
The decision by Stellantis is reported by “Automotive News Europe”, which cites a statement from the company, justifying the halt due to the global slowdown in electric vehicle sales, partly due to diverging policies on incentives for electric mobility.
The Fiat 500e is produced in Turin, Italy, at the historic Fiat factory in Mirafiori. The production suspension will begin on Friday, September 13.
It is worth noting that Stellantis recently announced it will continue to invest in Italy and that the Mirafiori factory will start producing the new 500 Hybrid, the new hybrid variant of the small Fiat model, starting at the end of 2025.
