The Stellantis factory in Mangualde is experiencing occasional production constraints due to the severe wildfires affecting Portugal.

“There are occasional logistical constraints”, revealed to “ECO” Jorge Magalhães, communications director of Stellantis in Portugal. “The primary concern is the safety of our personnel and their families”.

It is worth noting that the Mangualde production unit is responsible for manufacturing light commercial vehicles and passenger versions of the Peugeot Partner/Rifter, Citroën Berlingo Van/Berlingo, Opel Combo Cargo/Combo, and Fiat Professional Doblò/Doblò.

In 2023, the Stellantis factory in Mangualde produced 84,000 vehicles, achieving its annual record for its six decades of existence by the end of November 2023.

With the investments made there, the factory, where the automotive group marked the start of electric vehicle production in July after an investment of 119 million euros, exports 95% of its production.

With an investment of around €30 million made in recent years at the Mangualde production unit, Stellantis began producing eight 100% electric models in both passenger and light commercial versions of the Citroën ë-Berlingo and ë-Berlingo Van, Peugeot E-Partner and E-Rifter, Fiat e-Doblò, and Opel Combo-e for domestic and export markets.
