The Mangualde factory in Portugal, operated by Stellantis, today began the mass production of 100% electric vehicles including the Citroën ë-Berlingo and ë-Berlingo Van, Fiat e-Doblò, Opel Combo-e, and Peugeot E-Partner and E-Rifter, in both passenger and light commercial versions, intended for domestic and export markets.
As a result of an investment of €119 million, obtained through one of the mobilizing agendas for business innovation led by Stellantis Mangualde – the “GreenAuto” project – this important national production center becomes the first factory in Portugal to mass-produce battery electric passenger and light commercial vehicles.
It is worth noting that in July of last year, ahead of the Group’s initial plans by almost a year, the Mangualde Center began production of the first pre-series units of the new 100% electric vehicles.
In the first nine months of the year, the Stellantis factory in Mangualde has already produced 63,400 vehicles.
