Stellantis has announced that it has extended the special coverage in Europe for the 1.5 BlueHDi engines produced between October 2017 and January 2023, and introduced retroactive reimbursement related to previous issues, similar to what it had already done with the 1.2 PureTech gasoline engines.
Under this enhanced policy, Stellantis will cover 100% of the costs of parts and labor for a maximum period of ten years or 240,000 kilometers, subject to specific conditions.
Additionally, customers who have already experienced technical issues with the timing chain can request reimbursement for related expenses starting from mid-July.
Stellantis also has an online platform dedicated to “compensation,” which is also accessible through the portals of the brands Citroën, DS Automobiles, Opel/Vauxhall, Fiat, and Peugeot.
This complementary policy applies to eligible repairs carried out between January 1, 2023, and June 30, 2025, provided that the maintenance and diagnosis of the vehicle have followed the recommended guidelines of the respective brand.
To be entitled to the special coverage, maintenance must have been performed by any automotive professional, but in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. In case of intervention, the diagnosis and repair must have been carried out by the authorized network.
As part of this initiative, Stellantis is also providing customers of used vehicles from the authorized Spoticar and Stellantis networks with the Check+ certificate, which informs them that they will benefit from the same special coverage as customers who purchased a new vehicle.
