Stellantis has announced that it will install new fast charging stations (>50 kW) in selected dealerships throughout Europe by the end of 2024, adding 400 locations with up to 1600 outlets to the charging map and improving the access of electric vehicle customers to fast chargers.
The new charging stations will be branded Free2move Charge, and each location will be equipped with multiple fast charging stations, allowing dealership networks to offer an integrated charging experience.
With this measure, Stellantis aims to expand access to electric charging networks for its electric vehicle customers and also for all other electric vehicle drivers, regardless of the brand, by working together with two key partners: the dealership network – which will provide the installation locations – and charging point operators (CPOs), who will invest, develop, and operate the charging stations.
However, the brand has announced that electric vehicle customers of the automotive group’s brands will have access to privileged charging rates through the Free2move Charge Go application and will be able to test and learn more about public charging while getting to know the electric vehicle ecosystem.
“The new fast charging stations on the network will integrate both Stellantis customers and dealerships on the same sustainable and virtuous journey”, said Danilo Annese, Head of Global Retail at Stellantis.
It should be noted that the automotive group aims to achieve 100% battery electric vehicle sales in passenger cars in Europe and 50% in passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in the United States by 2030.
