The Formula 1 has undergone significant changes in various aspects in recent years. Opinions on sprint races in F1 have always been diverse. Many drivers, including the three-time world champion, have expressed their displeasure with these events due to the limited rest time and the perception of unfairness to the drivers and teams.

However, the CEO of F1 recently stated in an interview that he is open to the idea of adding more sprint races to the F1 calendar. After the successful qualifying and sprint race in Shanghai, the 58-year-old man believes that the sport could benefit from more sprint races.

The introduction of sprint races in F1 in 2021 aimed to attract more attention to the sport. Depending on the outcome of the remaining sprint races this year, there is a possibility of adding more events in the future. It remains to be seen how many sprint races F1 fans and drivers can expect in the near future. However, Max Verstappen, who expressed his dissatisfaction with the event, will likely be annoyed if more races are added.

Since the introduction of sprint races in F1 in 2021, there have been several changes to the format. Max Verstappen has always been vocal about his dislike for these races. However, he acknowledged that the new format for this season is slightly better.

Verstappen mentioned that the sprint format is more straightforward, but also emphasized the need to not overdo it. With the current calendar of 24 races, including six sprint events, he believes that the number of sprint races is already sufficient.

The next race in Miami will also be held in sprint format, providing an interesting contrast to the previous race in Shanghai. It will be intriguing to see how the three-day event unfolds on a different track.
