Smart Roadster pode estar de regresso em versão 100% elétrica

After announcing that it is considering the feasibility of producing the Fortwo again, Smart is now considering bringing back the Roadster that went out of production about two decades ago.

According to Smart’s CEO in Europe, Dirk Adelmann, in statements to “Autocar“, he revealed that the new Roadster was designed in 2020, shortly after Geely acquired 50% of the brand’s shares, and the model may now return in a 100% electric version. “If we make a Roadster, be sure it will be very compact – definitely a two-seater”, Adelmann said.

It is worth noting that Smart’s current range consists of an SUV model, and investing in a Roadster similar to the original with only 3.4 meters in length and 1.2 meters in height may allow the brand to have a more comprehensive range.

With over 43,000 units produced between 2002 and 2005, the Smart Roadster was presented as a more emotional two-seater model of the brand, which, using the Fortwo, had engines with 61 hp, 82 hp of power, and was joined by a version created by Brabus with 101 hp.
