Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time world champion in Formula 1, has shown a keen interest in expanding his involvement in motorsport by considering the purchase of a MotoGP team. This comes as FOM owner, who owns the rights to Formula 1, recently acquired the two-wheeler series, injecting new interest into the sport. Hamilton, who has previously expressed his passion for motorcycle racing, is reportedly eyeing the opportunity to buy Gresini Racing, a MotoGP team that currently boasts the talented rider Marc Marquez.

Amidst the swirling rumors surrounding Hamilton’s potential venture into MotoGP, the British racing driver has addressed the speculation. He expressed his fascination with the prospects of owning a MotoGP team and emphasized his belief that anything is possible. Hamilton has already made investments in other sports, such as buying a stake in the NFL team Denver Broncos, and he sees the opportunity to expand his ownership as an exciting possibility.

Hamilton’s interest in MotoGP has been met with enthusiasm from other figures within the sport. The current championship leader, , has welcomed the idea of Hamilton owning a team in MotoGP. According to , Hamilton’s interest signifies the growth of the sport on a global scale and adds an intriguing element to the future of MotoGP. The 26-year-old rider believes that Hamilton’s involvement would bring further attention and excitement to the series.

However, it is important to note that a potential deal between Hamilton and Gresini Racing may face some obstacles. Marquez, the star rider for the team, is set to leave after the 2024 season to join the factory Ducati team. This could complicate negotiations and potentially delay the finalization of any agreement between Hamilton and the Faenza-based MotoGP team. Nonetheless, the prospect of Hamilton’s involvement in MotoGP has generated significant interest and anticipation within the paddock.
