Skoda has announced that the functionality of the voice assistant, Laura, has now been significantly expanded thanks to the integration of the Chat Pro feature from technology partner Cerence. In addition to the previously available sources of information, the Chat Pro function is now directly linked to the ChatGPT artificial intelligence tool.
The new tool allows the voice assistant Laura to answer questions that go beyond the scope of general knowledge, and the new feature is now available in models built on the MEB GP and MQB EVO platforms and equipped with the new 4.0 software version, such as the updated Enyaq range, new generation Superb and Kodiaq, as well as the updated Octavia.
Skoda emphasizes that user control over the voice assistant remains unchanged, and the functionality of ChatGPT, which is currently available in four languages, English, Spanish, Czech, and German, can be disabled through the privacy settings in the vehicle’s infotainment system. However, in Enyaq models that support this functionality, it is always active.
It is important to note that ChatGPT does not access vehicle data or personal information; all requests are processed anonymously, and interactions are immediately deleted to ensure the highest level of data protection.
