Skoda apresenta o Vision O que antecipa a futura geração do Octavia Break

Despite the SUV trend, Skoda continues to maintain its focus on station wagons and, in this regard, presented at the Munich Motor Show in Germany, the Vision O, a fully electric prototype that anticipates what the next generation of the Octavia Break will be.

Right away, the Vision O stands out for the evolution of the brand’s Modern Solid design language, which will be present across the next generations of its models, featuring a completely new “Tech-Loop Face” that replaces the Tech-Deck Face, ensuring an even more robust appearance, according to the company.

The minimalist design offers maximum efficiency through optimized aerodynamics, distinguished by the cut-out upper area, as well as an illuminated logo on the hood. At the rear section, there is a highlight on the light signature with “T” shaped taillights, already used in the Modern Solid design language.

“At Skoda, our commitment to customers, who trust us as market leaders in the van segment since 2016, drives us to realize the Vision O: a combination of innovative design, over 650 liters of trunk space, autonomous driving functions, and an intuitive Artificial Intelligence assistant.”, said Klaus Zellmer, CEO of Skoda. “This vehicle transforms every journey into an enriching and effortless experience. At the same time, it brings us closer to our sustainability goals and elevates our Modern Solid design principles to a new level.”

Among the advanced technologies that redefine the driving experience is the autonomous driving function, which allows the vehicle to perform all tasks independently, except in challenging conditions, such as heavy rain and reduced visibility, “and still be able to safely stop the vehicle off the road.”

Additionally, the versatile “Quiet Mode” adjusts the seat configuration for greater comfort or additional space and alternates the ambient lighting according to the selected mode.

The interior of this Vision O features a monochromatic cockpit, where the highlight is a horizontal screen that spans the entire width of the windshield, displaying all the most important information directly in the driver’s field of vision. Additionally, the steering wheel has a set of buttons to facilitate the driver’s access to a range of functions.

Skoda has not revealed specific details about the mechanics of the Vision O, and all that is known is that it is a fully electric prototype with power similar to the upcoming generation of the Octavia estate.

Furthermore, the Vision O anticipates the production model that will be based on the VW Group’s SSP platform, which is expected to allow for greater performance at lower costs, replacing the current MEB and also the PPE, which will be used by the next generations of the fully electric Golf and T-Roc.
