Skoda Gran Turismo para o mundo virtual com 1072 cv

It is called Vision Gran Turismo and it is the new Skoda dedicated to the virtual world of video games. The unique four-wheel drive supercar was designed to “attract new fans” to the Czech brand, according to CEO Klaus Zellmer.

The virtual driver of this Skoda Vision Gran Turismo, designed for the popular video game Gran Turismo 7 for PlayStation, has at their disposal a sports car equipped with four electric motors, arranged as dual units, one on the front axle and the other on the rear axle, delivering a combined power of 1072 hp and a maximum torque of 1020 Nm that allows for continuous acceleration through a single-speed transmission. Powering the four synchronous permanent magnet electric motors is an 87 kWh lithium-ion battery.

The all-wheel drive actively optimizes torque distribution between the two axles for better cornering performance, ensuring a responsive driving experience. The foundation for the excellent driving dynamics is a pushrod suspension system with independent arms, similar to those used in Formula E. This further enhances stability at high speeds, reduces body roll, and lowers the vehicle’s center of gravity.

Inspired by the 1957 Skoda 1100 OHC Spider, developed to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Vision Gran Turismo for the virtual world has a length of approximately 4.41 meters with a width of almost 1.95 m and a height of only 94.9 cm. It features an exterior marked by active aerodynamic components, such as the dual rear wing designed by Skoda, which dynamically adapts to driving conditions, ensuring a perfect balance between performance and efficiency.Players can choose between two different paint finishes for the Vision Gran Turismo: one that evokes the famous Skoda 130 RS, which won its class at the 1977 Monte Carlo Rally, and a second one in Explorer Green matte, the color of the iconic Vision 7S concept that introduced the new Modern Solid design language of the Czech brand.

Once inside, the pilot sits in the center of a minimalist digital cockpit, reminiscent of a competition model. The sporty seat is equipped with a six-point harness in red-orange color and the futuristic-looking carbon steering wheel is flattened at the top and bottom, designed in collaboration with experienced Gran Turismo players and equipped with three individually customizable buttons.

The futuristic design instrument panel not only displays the speed, selected driving mode, and battery level, but also functions as a rearview mirror, showing the area behind the vehicle at all times. In addition, integrated distance sensors alert the driver to other vehicles nearby, reducing the risk of side collisions.

“The Skoda Vision Gran Turismo study combines the brand’s rich heritage with our electric future and the new Modern Solid design language. Our customers are explorers and the stylish Vision Gran Turismo car is an excellent way to enrich their experiences and, at the same time, attract new fans to our brand.”, emphasized Klaus Zellmer, CEO of Skoda Auto.
