Skoda took advantage of its presence at the Rétromobile classic car show in Paris to celebrate the 90 years of existence of the Superb, which are marked this year, with the presence at the event of four units from its various generations.
“When selecting the cars we will present this year in Paris, we focused on celebrating the 90th anniversary of Superb production.”, says Andrea Frydlová, Director of the Skoda Museum.
Even before the beginning of the Superb’s history, in 1934, Škoda had already manufactured prestigious cars between 1926 and 1930, under license from Hispano-Suiza. A 1928 model from this originally Hispano-Swiss brand, well known in France, was also exhibited at the Paris exhibition. The Superb range was highlighted and represented by three historic six-cylinder models from 1936, 1938, and 1948 in various configurations.
In addition to the iconic Superb, the Czech brand also showcased in Paris the 1100 OHC Coupé sports car, the 1928 Hispano-Suiza, the innovative Voltavia project that combines elements from 1969 and 2023, and the Vision 7S concept, a study of a large electric family SUV, presented in 2022, previewing the direction of the Modern Solid design for future vehicles of the Mladá Boleslav brand.
