Simone Faggioli Dominates Pikes Peak Practice with Record-Breaking Performance

Revolutionary Practice Sessions Kick Off at Pikes Peak with Intense Competition Unleashed

In a thrilling start to the Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, presented by Gran Turismo, drivers across various sections showcased their skills in the early morning hours on the challenging 12.42-mile course.

The practice runs and qualifying sessions on Tuesday were divided into three groups, each delivering jaw-dropping performances and fierce competition as they tackled the mountain.

Lower Section:
Italian driver Simone Faggioli set the bar high with an impressive 3:33.757 time in his 2018 Nova Proto NP01 Bardahl, dominating the day’s runs. Hot on his heels was teammate Diego Degasperi, clocking in at 3:40.591. Colorado Springs’ own Dan Novembre shined in the Open Wheel category, finishing with a speedy 3:44.852, narrowly edging out Unlimited driver David Donner. Excitement peaked as seven competitors broke the four-minute mark in the qualifying rounds.

Middle Section:
Defending champion Romain Dumas stole the show in the Pikes Peak Open category, setting a blistering pace with a time of 2:14.224 in his 2025 Super Mustang Mach-E EV. The competition heated up with Jimmy Ford coming in second, closely followed by Loni Unser and Jeff Zwart, showcasing their skills in their Porsches. Rookie Patrick Culligan also made a mark, rounding up the top five with a solid performance.

Upper Section:
The Time Attack 1, Exhibition, and Pikes Peak GT4 Trophy by Yokohama divisions saw intense battles, with division leaders separated by mere seconds. GT4 leader Steve Wetterau dominated with a remarkable 2:48.183 time, leaving his competitors in awe. Robb Holland impressed in the Time Attack 1 category, posting a 2:48.510 time, closely trailing Wetterau. Robert Walker made a statement with a 2:49.171 time in the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N EV, holding his ground against fierce competition.

As the competition at Pikes Peak intensifies, drivers are pushing the limits and thrilling spectators with their exceptional skills and determination. Stay tuned for more adrenaline-pumping action as the race week unfolds.
