Adrian Newey Reflects on Red Bull Exit: “I think the guys also felt, perhaps, that they needed to show that they could do it on their own”

Red Bull Team Drama Unveiled: Horner Denies Marko’s Claims About Tsunoda

In a shocking turn of events, the Red Bull team is facing internal turmoil as Team Principal Christian Horner refutes claims made by consultant Helmut Marko regarding driver Yuki Tsunoda. Marko previously stated that Tsunoda was not considered for Red Bull earlier due to objections from renowned designer Adrian Newey.

However, Horner set the record straight in an exclusive interview with Sky Sport UK, stating, “I want to clarify, Adrian had no role in the driver selection for this season. He was not involved in this decision. Helmut was referring to the incident that occurred in 2022 at Silverstone.”

Recent reports highlighted Marko’s absence from a crucial technical meeting in Milton Keynes, where the development path of the RB21 car was discussed alongside star driver Max Verstappen. Marko, known for his omnipresence within the team, has been exhibiting unusual behavior lately, raising eyebrows among insiders.

Adding fuel to the fire, Yuki Tsunoda, who was officially welcomed to the team on March 27, expressed surprise at not hearing from Marko personally. Tsunoda revealed, “Surprisingly, he hasn’t called me yet. I find it very strange. Maybe he was busy with other things, but I can’t wait to see him. It was definitely unusual not to hear from him: from F3 to F1, he has always called me, but this time he didn’t. I’m sure he has nothing against me; we have never had tense moments. When he comes to the circuit, we will see each other.”

Nevertheless, Tsunoda’s claims were contradicted by journalist Chris Medland, who revealed, “Yuki said he was looking forward to hearing from Marko. Then he left the press conference, checked his phone, and saw that Helmut had tried to call him just before the interview.” Marko was spotted at the Suzuka circuit today, diligently overseeing the free practice sessions.

As tensions rise within the Red Bull camp, the dynamics between key figures like Marko, Horner, and the drivers remain under intense scrutiny. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing saga that is sending shockwaves through the Formula 1 community.
