Sergio Perez’s Return to F1: Inside Scoop on His Talks with Cadillac Team

In a jaw-dropping turn of events, Sergio Perez is on the brink of making a sensational comeback to Formula 1 with the new Cadillac team for the F1 2026 season. The Mexican driver, who left his Red Bull seat at the end of last year, is now in “advanced talks” with Cadillac F1, with negotiations reportedly progressing smoothly.

Red Bull adviser Helmut Marko has expressed his confidence in Perez’s ability to excel in F1 once again, provided he has recovered from the pressure of being Max Verstappen’s teammate. Marko hinted at a potential partnership between Perez and American driver Colton Herta at Cadillac F1, emphasizing the importance of having an experienced driver in the team.

Marko’s endorsement comes as Cadillac F1 gears up to enter the world of Formula 1, with plans to use Ferrari engines initially before developing their own power unit in 2028. The team’s entry has been met with approval from Marko, who sees Cadillac’s participation as a major boost for the sport.

Perez, who recently celebrated his 35th birthday, has been candid about his discussions with various teams following his departure from Red Bull. The seasoned driver is weighing his options carefully, looking for a project that not only motivates him but also appreciates his years of experience in the sport. Despite receiving interest from multiple parties, Perez remains focused on choosing a path that aligns with his career goals and personal fulfillment.

As the F1 community eagerly anticipates Perez’s next move, all eyes are on Cadillac F1 and their potential lineup for the upcoming season. With negotiations in full swing and excitement building up, the stage is set for a high-stakes return for Sergio Perez in Formula 1. Stay tuned for more updates on this thrilling development in the world of motorsport.
