UFC middleweight Robert Whittaker is confident in his abilities and believes he would come out victorious against Dricus Du Plessis in nine out of ten encounters. Whittaker, a skilled fighter in the octagon, is determined to prove his dominance in the UFC middleweight division.

Whittaker’s self-assuredness stems from his extensive experience and impressive track record. With numerous victories under his belt, he has established himself as a formidable force in the world of mixed martial arts. Whittaker’s confidence in his abilities is unwavering, and he is eager to showcase his skills against Du Plessis.

Du Plessis, on the other hand, may have a tough challenge ahead of him if he were to face Whittaker. Whittaker’s relentless fighting style and strategic approach make him a formidable opponent for anyone in the middleweight division. Despite the potential difficulties, Du Plessis will undoubtedly bring his A-game to the octagon if given the opportunity to face Whittaker.

As the UFC middleweight division continues to evolve, Whittaker remains a prominent figure within the sport. His dedication and perseverance have earned him the respect of both fans and fellow fighters. Whittaker’s belief in his abilities sets him apart from his competitors, and he is determined to prove himself as one of the best in the division.

In conclusion, Robert Whittaker is confident in his skills and believes he would come out victorious in the majority of his matchups against Dricus Du Plessis. Whittaker’s track record and experience make him a formidable force in the UFC middleweight division. As the sport continues to evolve, Whittaker’s determination and self-assuredness set him apart from his competitors.

Former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker still haunted by loss to Dricus Du Plessis

In a surprising turn of events, Robert Whittaker admits to underestimating Dricus Du Plessis in their last fight. Speaking at a pre-fight press conference for UFC 298, Whittaker boldly claims that he would still win nine out of ten times against the current champ. Despite acknowledging Du Plessis’ hunger and strength, Whittaker believes he is the superior fighter with a better skill set. However, their previous encounter tells a different story.

Whittaker suffered a TKO loss in the second round of their fight, failing to show much promise. It’s hard to believe his claim of dominance when the evidence suggests otherwise. While Whittaker may have the potential to be more competitive and utilize his jab effectively, it’s unlikely that he would come out on top in nine subsequent meetings.

Du Plessis’ recent fight against Sean Strickland further diminishes Whittaker’s chances. Strickland attempted to keep Du Plessis at bay with his jab throughout the five-round bout, but the challenger managed to break through and secure a close decision victory. Whittaker would face similar challenges in a potential rematch, making his claim even more far-fetched.

At UFC 298, Whittaker will have the opportunity to prove himself once again. He will face Paulo Costa, a relentless pressure fighter known for overwhelming his opponents. While Costa lacks the wrestling threat that Du Plessis possesses, his constant pressure will test Whittaker’s skills. A win for Whittaker would put him back in contention for a title shot and solidify his position in the middleweight rankings. However, a loss could result in his first losing streak and a long road to redemption.
