Alpine F1 Racing Team in Chaos After Jack Doohan’s Terrifying Crash Unleashes Drama at Japanese Grand Prix

The Alpine Formula 1 team has been thrown into disarray following a heart-stopping crash by driver Jack Doohan at the Japanese Grand Prix. The Australian sensation barely completed a lap at the Suzuka International Circuit before careening into the barriers at Turn 1, prompting a flurry of panicked reactions. Doohan, initially unsure of what had transpired, radioed his team with a bewildered “What happened?”

Speculations ran wild as the Sky F1 broadcast team hinted that the crash might not have been due to driver error. However, Alpine later confirmed that the mishap occurred because Doohan failed to close the DRS flap, a critical maneuver he had practiced extensively on the simulator. Team principal Oliver Oakes labeled the incident as a ‘misjudgment’ in an official statement released by the Enstone-based outfit.

Amid the chaos, Alpine provided a crucial update on Doohan’s car, assuring fans that it had been meticulously restored for Saturday’s sessions. Despite a night of intense work to replace all damaged parts except the power unit, Doohan faced an uphill battle after missing significant practice time. The 22-year-old driver managed just four laps on Friday and had to skip FP1 to make way for Alpine reserve driver Ryo Hirakawa.

The setbacks continued as Doohan struggled to find his footing in FP3, culminating in a disappointing 19th position on the grid for the Japanese GP. The looming threat of another Q1 exit cast a shadow over his prospects for Sunday’s race, intensifying the pressure on the young driver and his beleaguered team.

As the dust settled on the turbulent weekend, with multiple red flags disrupting practice sessions, all eyes turned to the dramatic developments at Alpine. The team’s resilience and Doohan’s determination will be put to the ultimate test as they strive to overcome setbacks and chase redemption on the track.
