Jake Hughes, from NEOM McLaren, secured the top spot for the second race of the double Shanghai E-Prix event this morning. The British driver had a strong performance throughout the qualifying session, clocking a lap time of 1:13.921s, just one thousandth of a second ahead of Stoffel Vandoorne, from DS Penske. Antonio Felix da Costa, representing Tag Heuer Porsche, took third place with a time of 1:13.980s, after Pascal Wehrlein was eliminated in the group stages. Nyck de Vries, in his first appearance since returning to FIA Formula E, impressed with a time of 1:14.080s, followed by Nick Cassidy and Norman Nato in fifth and sixth place, respectively, for Jaguar TCS Racing. Despite Jake Dennis facing difficulties in qualifying, Nato managed to secure seventh place for Andretti, with Oliver Rowland, Jean-Éric Vergne, and Max Günther rounding out the top ten.

HOW QUALIFYING UNFOLDED

GROUP STAGES

In Group A, Rowland set the fastest time of 1:14.629s, followed by Vandoorne [+0.012s], Cassidy [+0.021s], and de Vries [+0.025s], who had been voted Driver of the Day in the previous race. Dennis once again struggled to perform well, missing out by over a tenth of a second, while Günther faced an investigation from the stewards for impeding Dan Ticktum during a quick lap.

In Group B, Hughes set the benchmark with a time of 1:14.308s, followed by da Costa [+0.228s], yesterday’s winner Evans [+0.277s] and Nato [+0.310s], who once again outperformed his teammate Dennis. Wehrlein, facing oversteer issues, couldn’t find additional pace and finished in seventh, four tenths behind. Vergne, who had secured pole position in the previous race, also struggled and missed out by three tenths.

DUELS

The first duel was between Cassidy and Vandoorne, with the New Zealander driver struggling in the final sector, allowing the Belgian driver to advance by a mere six thousandths of a second after two impressive final sectors.

In the duel between de Vries and Rowland, the Mahindra driver, participating in his first duels of the season, eliminated the Nissan driver by less than two tenths.

Da Costa, determined to bounce back after a disappointing performance the day before, put in a brilliant lap to eliminate Evans, who now faces the challenge of replicating his success in the first race.

Hughes, always a threat when his car is performing well, defeated Nato by less than a tenth of a second.

SEMI-FINALS

De Vries fell short by two tenths of a second against Vandoorne, who became the first driver of the day to achieve a lap time in the 1:13.000s range.

Hughes once again displayed exceptional speed, securing a spot in the final by eliminating da Costa by less than a tenth of a second.

FINAL

Vandoorne seemed to be the fastest in sector one, but Hughes delivered an exceptional intermediate sector, putting him in the lead. With the final sector approaching, the victory would be determined by minimal margins, and Hughes secured pole position by just one thousandth of a second. This marks his second pole position of Season 10, setting the stage for an exciting race later.

The study, conducted by a team of specialized scientists, revealed that a natural compound found in certain tropical plants has surprising anti-cancer properties. Laboratory tests have shown that this substance is able to effectively destroy cancer cells without causing harm to healthy cells.

This promising discovery raises the possibility of developing a revolutionary cancer treatment that could replace traditional methods such as chemotherapy. Researchers are optimistic and believe that this new therapy could be available to patients in the near future.

However, there is still much work to be done before this cure is widely used. Scientists are conducting more tests and clinical studies to ensure the effectiveness and safety of this new treatment. In addition, regulatory and financial issues need to be overcome for this therapy to be accessible to all.

Despite the challenges, this discovery represents a significant advancement in the fight against cancer. The scientific community is excited about the results obtained so far and believes that this cure could save countless lives in the future.

It is still too early to say for certain that cancer will be eradicated, but this discovery offers a new hope and motivation for the search for increasingly effective solutions in combating this devastating disease. The world eagerly awaits more information and advancements in this promising research.
