Shane Van Gisbergen Secures Multi-Million Dollar Deal with Trackhouse Racing Amidst Championship Chase

NASCAR Cup Series driver Shane van Gisbergen (88) waves to fans on Sunday, July 27, 2025, ahead of the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Shane Van Gisbergen Secures Multi-Year Contract with Trackhouse Racing: A New Era Begins!

In a move that has sent shockwaves through the NASCAR community, Shane Van Gisbergen, the three-time Supercars champion from New Zealand, has officially signed a multi-year contract extension with Trackhouse Racing. This announcement not only solidifies Van Gisbergen’s place in NASCAR but also underscores Trackhouse’s unwavering confidence in the racing prodigy, whose meteoric rise has captivated fans worldwide.

Entering the NASCAR arena at the age of 34, Van Gisbergen quickly made his mark, debuting with a stunning victory at the Chicago Street Course in 2023. His groundbreaking win under the Trackhouse Racing’s Project 91 banner was merely the beginning. Fast forward to 2025, and Van Gisbergen has already clinched victories at prestigious tracks including Mexico City, Sonoma, and the Chicago Street Race, where he accomplished the rare feat of sweeping both the Xfinity and Cup events in a single weekend. His prowess on road courses has not only earned him a playoff spot but has also established him as a formidable force in the series.

On August 8, 2025, Trackhouse Racing officially announced Van Gisbergen’s contract extension, proclaiming, “NEWS: Multiyear contract extension for SVG. The winningest foreign-born driver in NASCAR history will remain in The House for years to come.” With this announcement, Trackhouse is doubling down on its investment in Van Gisbergen, who has already made headlines for his exceptional skill and adaptability on the track.

Team owner Justin Marks has consistently praised Van Gisbergen’s dedication and talent, noting how he “studies, adapts, and learns.” Van Gisbergen himself expressed his excitement about the extension, stating, “I feel like Trackhouse Racing is my home.” This sentiment reflects a deep-seated bond between the driver and the team, positioning him as a cornerstone of their future ambitions.

As Van Gisbergen gears up for the playoffs, he is not just a driver; he is a symbol of Trackhouse’s vision for the future. The remaining road courses at Watkins Glen and the Charlotte Roval are critical for him, as he aims to build on his momentum. Already secured in the postseason, Van Gisbergen is a favorite to excel on these tracks, even as the oval-heavy schedule presents new challenges. Should he continue to evolve, the 2025 season could see him not just participating in the playoffs but also making a serious run for the championship.

However, it’s not all smooth sailing for the Kiwi star. Van Gisbergen carries the weight of a near-miss from the 2024 season, where he led the field at Watkins Glen only to lose the victory in a heartbreaking finale. “I really want to get there this weekend, make no mistakes, have a fast car and try and execute all day,” he said, reflecting on that painful moment. His determination to conquer his past failures is palpable; he admitted, “That near-miss still makes me angry… I threw that one away myself.”

With this renewed focus and a solid contract backing him, Van Gisbergen is poised to make history once again. A fourth consecutive win on road courses would place him alongside legends like Jeff Gordon and Chase Elliott, all while allowing him to exorcise the demons of last year’s loss. The pressure may be off with his playoff berth secured, but the stakes have never been higher for this formidable driver.

As fans await the showdown at Watkins Glen, one thing is clear: Shane Van Gisbergen is not just here to compete; he is here to dominate. With his future firmly in place and a championship within reach, the racing world is watching closely—will Van Gisbergen rise to the challenge and etch his name further into the annals of NASCAR history? Only time will tell, but one thing is for certain: the Kiwi sensation is just getting started.
