Sergio Perez unleashes shocking criticism of Red Bull: Helmut Marko responds with disbelief

Title: Sergio Perez’s Shocking Criticism of Red Bull: Helmut Marko Fires Back!

In a jaw-dropping revelation, Sergio Perez has unleashed a torrent of criticism aimed squarely at Red Bull Racing, and the response from the team’s former advisor, Helmut Marko, is nothing short of explosive. Perez, who joined Red Bull in 2021 after being unceremoniously dropped by Force India, has reflected on his tumultuous four-year tenure with the team, and it’s clear that the wounds still run deep.

In a candid podcast interview, Perez lamented the toxic atmosphere at Red Bull, stating, “At Red Bull, everything was a problem. If I was very fast, it was a problem, because then there was a very tense atmosphere within Red Bull.” The 35-year-old driver elaborated, “If I was faster than Max, it was a problem. If I was slower than Max, it was a problem. So everything was a problem. I also learned a lot from that: ‘OK, these are the circumstances I’m in.'”

Helmut Marko, known for his no-nonsense approach, did not hold back in his reaction to these startling comments. He expressed surprise at Perez’s remarks, reminding everyone of the precarious position the Mexican driver was in before joining Red Bull. “It is somewhat surprising,” Marko stated. “We should not forget that Checo Pérez did not have a contract. He was fired from the racing team he practically kept alive.”

Marko pointed out that Perez’s career was in jeopardy until Red Bull swooped in to provide him with a lifeline. During his time with the team, Perez celebrated five Grand Prix victories, yet he struggled to keep pace with the formidable Max Verstappen, ultimately finding himself in the shadows as the team’s number two driver. Marko added, “I don’t know exactly how many Grand Prix races he won, but especially in 2022 he was in the race for the world championship for a while.”

Despite the successes, Perez’s performance began to decline, leading to his departure at the end of 2024 and a subsequent year-long hiatus from Formula 1. Now, he is set to make a comeback with the newly formed Cadillac racing team.

The tension between Perez and Red Bull has seemingly reached a boiling point, and Marko’s comments underscore the complexity of their relationship. As Perez embarks on this new chapter, fans and analysts alike are left to wonder: Was Red Bull a savior or a source of frustration for the talented driver?

This unfolding saga is a reminder of the cutthroat nature of Formula 1, where the pressure to perform is relentless, and the stakes are higher than ever. As we gear up for the upcoming season, the spotlight will undoubtedly remain on both Perez and Red Bull, making this a story to watch closely.

Stay tuned for the latest updates and insights as the F1 world continues to turn—because in this sport, nothing is ever quite as it seems!
