Sergio Perez assume responsabilidade por incidente assustador na pitlane com Fernando Alonso no Grande Prêmio da Arábia Saudita.

During the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Sergio Perez, the Red Bull driver, received a five-second penalty for an unsafe release in the pit lane. This incident left Fernando Alonso, the Aston Martin driver, extremely concerned. After the race, Perez admitted that it was his mistake and that he may have misjudged the situation in the pit lane. He explained that he checked his mirrors when he was released after his pit stop, but did not see anyone behind him. Perez acknowledged that the penalty was fair and significantly affected their race.

Fernando Alonso had to brake suddenly and expressed his concern over Sergio Perez’s unsafe release. Fortunately, the Aston Martin driver managed to avoid a potential accident and finished in fifth place. Meanwhile, Perez secured a comfortable second place, with Max Verstappen winning the race.

Perez also mentioned that the current size of Formula 1 cars requires a wider pit lane exit to avoid risky situations like this one. He agreed with the penalty and acknowledged that he almost compromised his race.

Red Bull Team Principal, Christian Horner, praised Sergio Perez’s performance and stated that he is doing everything necessary to keep his seat. After the Bahrain Grand Prix, Horner commended Perez for his exceptional race, where he climbed up the grid from fifth place. This demonstrates that Perez is meeting expectations to retain his place at Red Bull. With consistent performances like these, Perez has a good chance of securing a seat for 2025, especially considering Daniel Ricciardo’s poor results.
