Sergio Perez apoia Christian Horner após críticas do pai de Max Verstappen.

Sergio Perez finally addressed the controversy surrounding Christian Horner’s inappropriate conduct, following criticisms from Max Verstappen’s father. The Red Bull team principal was recently cleared of the accusations after an independent investigation. Initially, Horner was accused of behaving inappropriately and exerting control over a female staff member. Red Bull took the matter seriously and conducted an independent investigation to look into the allegations.

Shortly after Horner’s innocence was established, an anonymous email was sent to various F1 personalities and journalists, including Max Verstappen’s father. The leak of alleged evidence caused a major uproar. Max Verstappen’s father did not hold back in criticizing the team principal, expressing his dissatisfaction. Sergio Perez, the other Red Bull driver, was asked about his opinion on the matter and whether he supports Horner. Perez made it clear that he supports the team principal.

According to Perez, he was not fully aware of the entire situation. His focus was entirely on his work in Milton Keynes. The 34-year-old driver had no interest in the political side of the sport. When it came to racing, Perez concentrated on his speed and improving his performance. He believed that Christian Horner played a crucial role in Red Bull Racing and fulfilled his responsibilities.

During the previous season, Sergio Perez secured victories in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix and the Sprint. He won two of the first four races in 2023. However, the driver struggled to maintain consistency and finished 290 points behind his teammate Max Verstappen in the drivers’ championship.

Perez felt that Red Bull did not make significant progress throughout the race weekends in the last season. In his opinion, it is crucial to focus on improving from Friday to Saturday and from Saturday to Sunday. Although Milton Keynes had promising starts, they failed to make substantial gains. Perez believed that seizing every opportunity was the key. With 24 races on the calendar, each race presents unique challenges and opportunities to maximize. He expressed confidence that he would have a fantastic year if he could seize these opportunities. Only time will reveal the outcome for the Mexican driver.
