Sergio Perez Reveals Red Bull’s Regret Over Departure in Shocking Revelation

Oracle Red Bull Racing driver Sergio Perez talks to media at the Formula 1 Pirelli United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024.

Sergio Perez Drops Bombshell Revelation About Red Bull’s Regret Over His Departure

Formula 1 driver Sergio Perez has set tongues wagging with his recent claim that Red Bull is ruing the day they decided to let him go. The Mexican racer, who joined Red Bull for the 2021 season, asserted that a “very reliable source” informed him about Red Bull’s regret regarding his exit from the team.

Perez’s tenure at Red Bull saw him secure five grand prix victories alongside teammate Max Verstappen. However, a sharp decline in performance in 2024 led to his departure from the team, a move that has seemingly backfired for Red Bull.

With Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda unable to make a significant impact, Red Bull finds itself trailing behind in the Constructors’ Championship, currently sitting in fourth place, a staggering 212 points behind the leaders.

In a candid interview on the Desde el Paddock podcast, Perez hinted at Red Bull’s remorse over his departure, stating, “I know, deep down, they regret it. And I know that from a very reliable source.”

Despite the disappointment of leaving Red Bull, Perez remains optimistic about his future in Formula 1, expressing his desire to return under the right circumstances. The seasoned driver is not willing to settle for a mere opportunity and is eyeing a competitive project that aligns with his ambitions.

Perez has been rumored to be in the running for a seat at the incoming Cadillac team for the F1 2026 season. While also linked with Alpine, Perez’s return to Formula 1 for 2025 seems unlikely at this stage, as confirmed by sources close to the negotiations.

As Perez navigates his options for a comeback, he remains composed, stating, “It’s still early, given the season, where it’s at. As things progress, everything will become clearer, and I’ll be able to make a final decision. I’m in no rush.”

Stay tuned for more updates on Sergio Perez’s Formula 1 comeback journey as the season unfolds.
