Last Sunday, Sergio Pérez suffered a harsh disappointment by retiring in the first corner of the Mexican Grand Prix Formula 1 – his home round, in which he aimed for victory. With the season continuing next weekend with the São Paulo Grand Prix, the Red Bull man does not dwell on the past.

That’s what he stressed, quoted by RacingNews365.com, aiming for the fight for second place in the World Championship when he has only a 20-point advantage over Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes): ‘Mexico was devastating for me, but in this sport these things happen, and you can’t afford to dwell on what could have been. I wanted to win my home race more than anything, but that’s in the past and my total focus is on finishing second in the championship’.

Pérez showed confidence in the possibility of immediately returning to good results: ‘We need to have a great weekend in Brazil and I feel confident in our ability to achieve immediate results. I felt that things were coming together last weekend with the direction we are heading, I am more confident in the car, the work that I and the team have done together is paying off in terms of tuning and performance’.
