Sergio Perez explica por que ‘Red Bull pode não ser adequado para todos’ durante negociações de contrato.

Sergio Perez has been part of the Red Bull team since 2021. Recently, he discussed the difficulties of driving alongside three-time world champion Max Verstappen. Perez acknowledges that he has struggled to keep up with Verstappen’s level of skill and has accepted his role as the team’s second driver.

After a disappointing end to the 2023 season, where Perez scored 290 points less than Verstappen, he has shown improvement this year. In seven races, the 34-year-old driver has scored 107 points and achieved four podium finishes.

Since joining Red Bull in 2021, Perez has won five races and been on the podium 28 times. He has played a crucial role in supporting Verstappen during his victorious campaigns.

Perez acknowledges the challenges of being Max Verstappen’s teammate and speaks highly of the Dutch driver. He hopes to match Verstappen’s consistency and contribute to the success of the Milton Keynes-based team.

According to Mexican reports, Red Bull has offered Sergio Perez a new contract, as his current one expires at the end of the season. The team has also shown interest in other talented Formula 1 drivers this year.

There are rumors that Red Bull may want to hire Carlos Sainz, the current Ferrari driver, as he will be replaced by Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari starting in 2025. However, these are just speculations as Red Bull has not made any official comments on the matter.
