Sergio Perez Lifts the Lid on His Parting Words to Christian Horner Before Shocking Red Bull Exit!

In a stunning revelation, Sergio Perez has opened up about his final conversation with Christian Horner, the former team principal of Red Bull Racing, just before his dramatic exit from the team. Joining Red Bull in 2021, Perez shared the limelight with the formidable Max Verstappen for an intense four years, but as his performance waned, so did his place in the high-octane world of Formula 1.

The Mexican driver has been candid about the harsh realities of racing alongside Verstappen, suggesting that “no driver can survive” under the current dynamics while Verstappen holds sway over the team’s strategies and car development. This stark admission was relayed directly to Horner during their last exchange, where Perez expressed heartfelt gratitude, stating, “Thank you so much for everything.” However, he did not shy away from delivering a chilling warning: “And I’m very sorry for anyone who comes here, because it will cost them a lot.”

This farewell was not just a personal goodbye; it marked the end of an era for Perez, who found himself grappling with the immense pressure that came with the Red Bull name. Ironically, Horner, who oversaw the team during Perez’s tumultuous tenure, was ousted himself just months later in the midst of the 2025 season.

As he navigates a season on the sidelines, Perez has already secured a promising future with the new Cadillac team set to debut in 2026. Reflecting on his Red Bull experience, he revealed that the decision to part ways was ultimately a blessing in disguise. “What happened with Red Bull, in the end, I knew it was the best thing that could have happened to me,” he declared. “Because being at Red Bull and the conditions I found myself in were very demanding.”

His insights resonate powerfully, as he warns future recruits: the path is fraught with challenges. “All the drivers who have arrived and those who will arrive will continue to have the same problems because it’s a very complex car to drive, where you have to constantly adapt to Verstappen’s style.”

As Perez embarks on this new chapter, the world watches closely. Will the seasoned driver find redemption with Cadillac, or will the shadow of his Red Bull experience continue to loom large? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: the saga of Sergio Perez and Red Bull is far from over. Buckle up, because this is just the beginning of a thrilling new ride!
