Ferrari is currently in second place in the 2024 Constructors’ Championship, behind Red Bull.
The Ferrari Formula 1 team has made significant progress since the start of the 2024 F1 season. Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc have performed exceptionally well, and as a result, the Red Bull team is anticipating Ferrari’s domination in the upcoming race in Monaco.
Charles Leclerc achieved a commendable third place in the recent Emilia-Romagna GP, thanks to extensive updates made to the SF-24. The feedback on the updates has been overwhelmingly positive, leading many, including Perez, to have high expectations for Ferrari in the upcoming race weekend.
Furthermore, Monaco holds a special significance for Leclerc as it is his hometown, and he is eager to make a strong start in the race.
Considering the response from the 34-year-old driver, it is evident that he is cautious of the threat posed by Ferrari at the 3.3km long Monaco Street Circuit. He also emphasized the importance of a clean qualifying session in Q3, both for himself and his team, to deliver a strong performance.
While Sergio Perez prepares for a challenging Monaco GP weekend, former F1 driver Christijan Albers expressed a critical opinion. Albers believes that Perez lacks the necessary skills to be a successful driver for Red Bull.
Currently, Perez holds the third position in the 2024 Drivers’ Championship.
With seven stages already completed and the eighth stage just a few hours away, it is crucial for Perez to deliver consistent performances. As he does not have a contract with Red Bull for 2025, it is in his best interest to show strong performances. All eyes will be on him during the Monaco GP weekend.
