Sergio Perez acredita que poderia se sair ainda melhor sem Max Verstappen como seu companheiro de equipe.

Sergio Perez’s performances in Formula 1 have been overshadowed by Max Verstappen’s exceptional results at Red Bull.

Max Verstappen’s dominant performances have greatly overshadowed Sergio Perez’s performance in recent seasons. The Mexican driver managed a second place in the 2023 season, but did not receive much recognition for his efforts due to a poor start. Therefore, the 34-year-old driver believes that if he had not been Verstappen’s teammate, he could have performed better in Formula 1.

Perez’s start to the 2024 season has been quite average, despite achieving some second places. The Mexican driver has not yet won a race due to Red Bull’s recent struggles. Meanwhile, Verstappen has already won five races since the start of the season. Perez admitted that being Verstappen’s teammate was challenging and felt that he could have achieved more if he had not been paired with the current world champion.

However, Perez sees the positive side of being Verstappen’s partner, as it has pushed him to the limit in Formula 1. He praised Verstappen as the best driver with extensive racing skills in the sport. Additionally, he acknowledged that Verstappen rarely makes mistakes, which contributes to his dominant performances.

To secure his position in the team, Sergio Perez will need to start achieving notable results. He highlighted the importance of having a great driver like Verstappen, as it constantly pushes him to new limits. Perez also recognized that he needs to have a flawless weekend if he wants a chance to beat Verstappen. The remainder of the 2024 season will be exciting to see how Perez handles his high-performing teammate. However, due to Red Bull’s recent struggles, Perez may even lose his position as runner-up in the drivers’ championship.

Despite the current difficulties of the team, Red Bull offers equal opportunities for both drivers to compete on the circuit. Verstappen maximizes the pace and potential of the challenging RB20, while Perez needs to maintain a consistent performance just behind his teammate to receive more recognition. The team will also need to work hard to resolve the current issues with the chassis.
