Sensational Rally News: Ogier’s Triumphant Return to WRC at Rally Islas Canarias

In a thrilling turn of events, the legendary Sébastien Ogier is set to make his highly anticipated comeback to the World Rally Championship at the upcoming Rally Islas Canarias. After a spectacular victory at the Monte Carlo Rally, where he secured his astonishing 10th win, Ogier is ready to dominate the Gran Canaria-based event, which marks round four of the action-packed 2025 season running from April 24-27.

Despite missing out on the previous two events in Sweden and Kenya, Ogier, alongside his skilled co-driver Vincent Landais, still holds a commendable fourth place in the world championship standings following their impressive 33-point triumph at the Monte. The duo will be joining forces with a formidable five-strong Toyota lineup for round four, which includes championship leader Elfyn Evans, two-time champion Kalle Rovanperä, Takamoto Katsuta, and Sami Pajari.

On the other hand, Hyundai is maintaining its lineup with reigning world champion Thierry Neuville, 2019 champion Ott Tänak, and Adrien Fourmaux, the sole Rally1 driver who has previously conquered Rally Islas Canarias. M-Sport Ford, on the other hand, will be represented by Grégoire Munster and Josh McErlean, as local driver José Antonio Suárez’s attempt to drive a Ford Puma Rally1 fell through.

The competition is fierce, with over 30 drivers vying for WRC2 honors, including notable names like Yohan and Léo Rossel, and the unregistered Oliver Solberg. The Rally Islas Canarias will also see the debut of several drivers for the season, such as 2022 champion Emil Lindholm, Fabio Schwarz, Mathieu Franceschi, and Alejandro Cachón. Additionally, fans can look forward to witnessing the skillful driving of 2022 ERC champion Efrén Llarena and local favorite Luis Monzón, alongside a multitude of talented Spanish drivers.

With a total of 63 crews revving up for the event, Rally Islas Canarias promises to deliver heart-stopping action, fierce competition, and unforgettable moments on the challenging Gran Canaria course. Get ready to witness the rally spectacle of the year as Ogier and the elite drivers battle it out for supremacy in this adrenaline-fueled showdown!
