Saudi Mining Giant Ma’aden Takes Center Stage in New Aston Martin Sponsorship Deal

Aston Martin unveils expanded partnership ahead of AMR24 launch

Aston Martin has given Formula 1 fans a sneak peek at its 2025 challenger, the AMR24, just a day before its official unveiling. While the full livery and sponsor lineup will be revealed on February 22, the team has confirmed that the final version of the car will be showcased on Sunday, February 23.

Among the biggest announcements is an expanded partnership with Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma’aden), which will now take a prominent position on the AMR24’s air intake and feature on the helmets and race suits of Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll. The deal strengthens Aston Martin’s financial backing from Saudi Arabia, where Aramco already serves as a key sponsor of the Silverstone-based team.

Unearthing Greatness: A Strategic Partnership

Ma’aden, partially owned by the Saudi government, first entered F1 sponsorship last season with Aston Martin but is now stepping up as a Principal Partner. To mark this new chapter, the team has launched the “Unearth Your Greatness” campaign, highlighting the parallels between motorsport excellence and the mining industry’s precision and dedication.

“Ma’aden and Aston Martin Aramco are committed to achieving greatness together, and this campaign will honor the dedication and talent needed to master a skill,” the team stated in its official release.

With Saudi investment growing in Formula 1, Ma’aden’s elevated status underscores Aston Martin’s deepening commercial ties in the Middle East. The increased backing follows Saudi Arabia’s broader involvement in global motorsports, including hosting F1 races in Jeddah and investing heavily in other sports properties.

A First Look at Alonso’s 2025 Helmet Design

Alongside the early reveal of the AMR24, Fernando Alonso’s new 2025 helmet design was teased on social media. While the full reveal will take place at tomorrow’s launch event in London, the Ma’aden branding is expected to feature prominently. Alonso was already seen testing the updated look during a private session in Barcelona last week, where he and Stroll put in laps in the AMR23.

What’s Next for Aston Martin?

With momentum from a strong 2024 season, Aston Martin enters 2025 aiming to close the gap to Red Bull, Ferrari, and McLaren. The AMR24’s development will be closely watched, with technical upgrades expected to improve its consistency and tire management—two weaknesses that cost the team in the latter half of last season.

As the countdown to the Bahrain pre-season test begins, all eyes will be on Aston Martin’s full reveal of the AMR24 and its ambitious push toward becoming a title-contending force in Formula 1.
