The upcoming Spanish Grand Prix is set to be a game-changer for Sauber as they gear up with a bundle of developments for their car. Driver Nico Hülkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto are optimistic about the new upgrades that will be introduced for the C45 model, aiming to propel the team out of the bottom of the constructor standings and enhance the car’s competitiveness.

The anticipation is high as Sauber heads to Spain with hopes pinned on the impact of these upgrades at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Known for its diverse track layout, the Montmeló circuit will be a crucial testing ground for the team’s new additions. While some teams might hold off on bringing upgrades due to the debut of a less flexible new front wing, Sauber is forging ahead, unwilling to wait and eager to get a head start on preparations for the summer races.

Nico Hülkenberg shared his thoughts on the upcoming race, stating, “Barcelona is a track we know well, probably where I’ve done the most laps in an F1 car. This helps us prepare for the weekend ahead.” He emphasized the importance of understanding the new package early on and maximizing its potential, especially after the team showed signs of improvement in pace recently. Hülkenberg believes that a strong qualifying performance could significantly boost their chances of a better race outcome, noting that the revised track layout in Barcelona has led to more action-packed races in the past.
