During the opening training session of the Sao Paulo E-Prix, the Jaguar TCS Racing duo, Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy, delivered an exceptional performance. At the beginning of the session, the Avalanche Andrettis, Jake Dennis and Norman Nato, briefly held the top positions, while Cassidy struggled and remained near the bottom of the time tables. However, Evans consistently showed his strength and ended up securing the first position with a time of 1:12:555. Cassidy, on the other hand, made a remarkable recovery towards the end of the session and secured second place with his personal best time of 1:12:776.
Closely following, the #48 Mahindra Racing car, driven by Edoardo Mortara, surprised everyone by securing third place, finishing half a second behind Evans. Another notable performance came from Dan Ticktum in the ERT car, who finished in fourth place with a time of 1:13:179. The Tag Heuer Porsches, driven by Pascal Wehrlein and Antonio Felix da Costa, secured fifth and eighth place, respectively. The Maserati MSG Racing cars, driven by Max Guenther and Jehan Daruvala, also impressed, finishing in sixth and ninth place.
Among the Nissan-powered cars, Jake Hughes of NEOM McLaren achieved the highest position, finishing in seventh place. In contrast, his teammate Sam Bird finished in 20th place. The official Nissan cars, driven by Oliver Rowland and Sacha Fenestraz, finished in 18th and 22nd place, respectively. Norman Nato completed the top 10, while Jake Dennis finished in 13th place.
