Ferrari announced that Sainz has been diagnosed with appendicitis and will need to undergo surgery. As a result, the team has decided to replace him with Bearman, their Formula 2 reserve driver, for the remainder of the race weekend. Sainz took part in Thursday’s practice sessions but expressed discomfort. The next Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, which marks the second round of the 2024 World Championship, is scheduled for Saturday.
