In a stunning turn of events at the Miami Qualifying, Williams outshines Ferrari, leaving Sainz to declare, “We must be perfect.”

The Williams team delivered an outstanding performance in the Miami Qualifying session, causing a wave of disappointment for Albon as he narrowly missed out on five crucial points due to a penalty incurred after the Sprint race. Despite the rollercoaster of emotions, Williams managed to outpace Ferrari and Yuki Tsunoda, securing a spot ahead of the fierce competition. The team experienced a whirlwind Saturday in Miami, with drivers and the team principal sharing their thoughts on the remarkable feat.

Carlos Sainz expressed his satisfaction with the qualifying results, stating, “I am very pleased with the qualifying result. I felt comfortable with the car since the only Free Practice session and knew I was fast this weekend, so it’s great to have a clean session and extract the most from the car. The weekend is not over yet, and we still need to deliver a perfect race if we want to gather some good points.”

Alex Albon, despite the challenges faced after receiving a penalty following a Sprint race where he finished fourth, managed to secure P7. He commented, “It was tough to face the Qualifying after receiving a penalty in a Sprint race finished in fourth place. I am satisfied with P7, and having both cars in Q3 is great for the team. Our pace is very good.”

James Vowles commended the team’s resilience, stating, “What I like about this team is that even when we are knocked down, we come back stronger. It was great to see the entire team enthusiastic and eager to show the world that we have a fast car this weekend. The qualifying session was executed to perfection, and the result was incredibly rewarding. Our task will be to get both cars into points-scoring positions even though we have faster cars behind us.”

The Miami Qualifying session proved to be a game-changer, with Williams showcasing their potential and determination to compete at the highest level. As the competition heats up, all eyes are on Williams to see if they can maintain their impressive performance and secure valuable points in the upcoming race.
