Sainz laments not having capitalized on the ‘fastest’ speed of the Monaco Grand Prix in F1.

Carlos Sainz Jr, representing Ferrari, expressed his disappointment with his position on the track during the Monaco Grand Prix in Formula 1. Despite displaying an impressive race pace in practice, Sainz was unable to find an opportunity to overtake Oscar Piastri’s McLaren. Sainz attempted to pass Piastri on the opening lap, but there was contact, resulting in a possible puncture. Although Sainz was reinstated in third place after a red flag, he chose not to risk overtaking Piastri to avoid potential damage to both cars. Sainz acknowledged that starting positions played a significant role in the race outcome in Monaco. Nevertheless, Sainz secured his third podium in the last four races in Monaco and surpassed Sergio Perez in the standings. Ferrari also closed the gap to Red Bull in the Constructors’ Championship.
