Carlos Sainz Jr of Ferrari SF-24 expressed his disappointment at the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, as he pitted before the Safety Car was deployed, costing him a potential victory. Sainz was initially on track to secure second place behind Max Verstappen, but a move by Sergio Perez caused him to lose positions to Charles Leclerc and Oscar Piastri. Despite this setback, Sainz continued to chase the McLaren and his teammate, opting for a longer pit stop before finally coming in. Unfortunately for Sainz, Ferrari’s decision to pit him on lap 27, one lap before the Safety Car was deployed, allowed Lando Norris to take the lead after pitting from sixth place. Sainz expressed his frustration, believing Ferrari missed out on a chance for victory due to the unfortunate timing. He also mentioned the incident with Piastri, where they collided at Turn 17, resulting in a penalty for Sainz. Despite his efforts to catch the leaders, Sainz admitted it was too late to have a significant impact on the race result.
