Sainz denies rejecting offer from Audi for F1.

Sainz nega recusa de oferta da Audi para F1.

Carlos Sainz Jr, a Ferrari driver, denied reports that he turned down a proposal from Audi as he looks for a future in Formula 1 beyond 2025. Sainz is currently seeking a place on the F1 grid after Ferrari decided to replace him with Lewis Hamilton next season. Although there have been rumors linking Sainz to Mercedes and Red Bull, it was revealed that Audi presented him with a lucrative offer. Audi plans to enter F1 in 2026 and take over the Sauber team. However, it is not clear if Sainz responded to the deadline. Sainz’s father, Carlos Sr, has a history with Audi, having won the Dakar Rally with the brand. Sainz Jr has not yet made a decision on whether to pursue a partnership with Audi, but he acknowledges that the brand has the potential to be competitive in Formula 1. He also mentioned that his father speaks highly of Audi and believes they can succeed in the sport.

“And if you follow Volkswagen’s projects, every time they have been involved in motor sports – whether with Porsche, Audi, or any other brand in the Volkswagen group – they have always come out on top. That’s a crucial advantage that should not be ignored.

“However, there are many other factors that come into play when making my decision.

“I really hope Audi can compete for wins in the future, as that would mean another strong competitor on the grid and a prestigious brand like theirs.

“I wish them all the best, although I have not yet determined if joining them is a possibility for me.”

Earlier this week, Sauber announced that they have signed Nico Hulkenberg from Haas on a long-term contract to represent their team during the transition to become Audi.

Amid rumors that Audi may explore other options for a partnership, Sainz revealed that he has not received any assurance of continued interest from the brand.

“The only guarantee I have is from myself, because I want to make the right decision,” he stated.

“That’s why I am taking my time and considering all available options before making any important decision.

“I believe it makes complete sense for Audi to have Nico joining their team, and I have personally witnessed his exceptional talent.

“He is a fantastic addition for them, and I congratulate them on securing his services, as he has been performing exceptionally well at Haas.”
