Blaney believes this is due to the lack of a third groove in the Next-Gen cars, making it difficult for drivers to recover and reducing the chances of accidents. In the past, even drivers in twentieth place could take advantage of accidents to secure a better result, but that is no longer possible. As an experienced Superspeedway driver, Blaney’s concerns should not be ignored. While clean races are good, the absence of the risk factor that makes this style of racing unique is not ideal for the sport. Blaney argues that the top three drivers now dominate the race, leaving little room for those below to influence the outcome. Despite his concerns, Blaney remains focused on ending his winless streak and securing a spot in the playoffs to defend his Cup title.
