2024 FIA World Rally Championship / Stage 02 / Rally Sweden / February 14-18, 2024 // Worldwide, Kalle Rovanpera is looking forward to a better result in the upcoming Rally Safari in Kenya. Toyota Gazoo Racing has revealed that they will have three cars participating in the event. The current WRC champion, Rovanperä, will start his truncated campaign as the second driver. He has decided to compete only in part of the season to recharge his energy. His year started in Sweden, where unfortunately he had an accident on the second day while leading the race. He managed to return on Saturday and finished in 39th place.

The Rally Safari in Kenya is known for its dusty or muddy plains, and it presents an opportunity for Rovanperä to continue Toyota’s success in the African event. Toyota has won all three Safaris since returning to the WRC Calendar. Sebastian Ogier claimed victories in 2021 and 2023, while Rovanperä took the trophy in 2022. However, Elfyn Evans and Takamoto Katsuta, full-time drivers for Toyota Gazoo Racing, will surely challenge Rovanperä’s pursuit of victory. It is worth noting that Ogier will not participate in this rally for the second time in three races.
