Ross Chastain Slams Trackhouse Racing’s Lackluster Qualifying Performance

In a scathing critique, Ross Chastain, driver for Trackhouse Racing, has expressed his frustration at the team’s poor qualifying pace, deeming it “unacceptable.” Despite a series of impressive top-ten finishes in recent races, Chastain is not mincing his words when it comes to the team’s performance on Saturdays.

The driver’s near-victory at Texas, where he finished second after starting in 31st place, highlighted a recurring issue for Trackhouse Racing. Chastain’s impressive comebacks from starting positions well outside the top 30 have become a pattern, with strong finishes at Bristol, Darlington, Martinsville, and Las Vegas.

Chastain’s dissatisfaction with the team’s qualifying results is palpable, as he voices concerns about the lack of speed in Trackhouse cars on Saturdays. In a recent appearance on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, he emphasized the team’s struggle to find confidence in their cars, stating, “Just because we were good last week doesn’t mean we’ll continue to be good.”

Despite Trackhouse Racing’s recent successes, Chastain is adamant that the team cannot afford to underperform in qualifying consistently. He acknowledges the efforts being made to address the issue but stresses the need for improvement, especially in light of the limited practice time in modern NASCAR.

Having worked his way up the NASCAR ranks, Chastain is no stranger to overcoming challenges. However, he is clear that Trackhouse Racing’s current qualifying woes are not up to par with their ambitions. With the team working hard to enhance their speed off the hauler, Chastain remains optimistic about a turnaround but insists on the need for immediate progress.

As NASCAR gears up for Kansas Speedway, where Chastain clinched victory last fall, the pressure is on for Trackhouse Racing to rectify their qualifying struggles. With the driver’s fierce determination and the team’s unwavering commitment to improvement, all eyes will be on Chastain and Trackhouse Racing as they strive for success on the track.
