Former NASCAR crew chief turned analyst, Steve Letarte, is not holding back on his opinion about the recent clash between Ross Chastain and Joey Logano at the Chicago Street Race. Letarte believes it’s high time for Chastain to take responsibility and make amends with Logano after their on-track altercation.

The incident in question occurred during a late restart at the Chicago Street Race, where Chastain ended up spinning Logano’s car. Despite initial beliefs pointing fingers at Logano, replays revealed that it was actually Kyle Larson who nudged Chastain into the spin. Letarte emphasizes that Chastain should be the one to reach out and apologize to Logano to settle the dispute.

Letarte delves into the competitive nature of both drivers, labeling them as “extremely aggressive” and “cut from the same cloth.” He stresses that in situations where two stubborn individuals collide, tensions are bound to escalate. Letarte suggests that Chastain needs to make the first move and mend fences with Logano to avoid further escalation between the two camps.

Moreover, Letarte highlights the underdog status of Trackhouse Racing and Chastain compared to the powerhouse Team Penske and Logano. He warns that it wouldn’t be beneficial for the rising team and driver to have a three-time Cup Series champion like Logano against them.

As the NASCAR community eagerly anticipates Chastain’s next move, the spotlight is on whether he will own up to his mistake and extend an olive branch to Logano. Letarte’s insights shed light on the importance of accountability and sportsmanship in the high-stakes world of NASCAR racing.

The saga between Chastain and Logano continues to captivate fans and experts alike, with the resolution of this conflict holding significance for both drivers’ reputations. Stay tuned as this NASCAR feud unfolds, with all eyes on Chastain’s next steps in the aftermath of the Chicago showdown.
