Four young guns are set to shake up the Formula 1 scene in the upcoming Bahrain Grand Prix Free Practice 1 session. The rookies, including Frederik Vesti and Andrea Kimi Antonelli, are gearing up to showcase their talents on the track.

Frederik Vesti, a Formula Regional European champion and Formula 2 runner-up, will be stepping into George Russell’s Mercedes W16. With experience as Mercedes’ reserve driver and a promising career in the IMSA SportsCar Championship, Vesti is eager to make an impact during his FP1 appearance.

On the other side of the paddock, newcomer Andrea Kimi Antonelli has already impressed in Melbourne and Shanghai, fulfilling the F1 regulations requiring teams to run rookies twice in each car throughout the season. Antonelli is ready to continue his journey in Bahrain and support his team alongside Vesti.

Aston Martin reserve driver Felipe Drugovich will also be joining the rookies, taking over Fernando Alonso’s car for the FP1 session. With over 9,100km of F1 mileage under his belt and familiarity with the Bahrain track from his time in F1’s feeder series, Drugovich is poised to shine on the circuit.

Additionally, Ferrari protege Dino Beganovic and Haas driver Ryo Hirakawa will be making their presence known in FP1, adding to the excitement and anticipation surrounding the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend.

As these talented rookies prepare to hit the track, F1 fans can expect thrilling performances and potential surprises during the practice session. Stay tuned as the future stars of Formula 1 showcase their skills and push the boundaries of speed and competition in Bahrain.
